So that happened. Mark Norman preached his last message as Grace’s Lead Pastor July 16 & 17. We’d been preparing for this weekend since last September when it was announced that he was stepping down from his role for health reasons and that Mitchel Lee, teaching pastor, would step into the role of Lead Pastor. Preparing didn’t make it any easier. We warned visitors that there might be more tears and more hugs than usual. And there were.
Mark knocked the message out of the park with his customary humble honesty, humor, and whole-hearted love of Jesus. He gave us a clear mandate to continue in the things that matter most. Experience it again, share it, or find out what you missed…Ordinary: These Things Matter
This wasn’t our last chance to see Mark and tell him we love him. During all worship gatherings August 27 & 28, 2016 we will celebrate Mark and his wife Lu and thank God for 26 and half years of extraordinary ministry.
We celebrate our future too! We are blessed with visionary leadership for the next chapter of life at Grace. Mitchel Lee will be installed as Lead Pastor on September 11, 2016. Holding tight to what matters most, we’re just getting started.
