Morgan’s Story

Morgan’s Story

My mom has been taking me to church ever since I was a baby. I grew up in a mostly Christian family. My dad is not a big believer in Christ, so he never really went to church. After my parents got divorced when I was 8, I found it hard to go through my daily life without worrying about my parents. Sometimes I would pray to God to help my parents stop fighting and to help them earn enough money to keep both houses. After more than two months of praying my stress started to decrease.

I have been really self-conscious in the last couple years about what I looked like and my weight. This was mostly because a lot of people were making fun of me and judging me by my weight. I felt very insecure and alone, even when I prayed about it at night I cried myself to sleep sometimes. After I had told my parents about what was happening they were very supportive. This year I started going to D-Team. I have also been to two retreats. During my retreats I learned in life you can choose two paths, one that leads you to Christ and one that leads you to an unfulfilled/sin-filled life.

During my first year of middle school, I was getting too carried away with sports, friends, and school to actually follow Christ. I wanted to change this so I prayed to God to help me start reading the Bible more often and to get into the habit of praying. I definitely feel that God has listened to my prayers and guided me in the right direction. I want to be baptized because I have put all my faith into Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. He has helped me get through all the rough times in my life and I want to publicly proclaim my trust in God. 🙂
