Jennifer VanBlarcom, Director of Training, Maryland Coalition of Families for Children’s Mental Health, began her career in healthcare as an RN working in hospitals in the DC area. Eventually, she got into sales then leadership training and consulting. In her role as Director of Training, Jennifer works with many experts, providers, policymakers, advocates, and community activists, to empower and expand the voice of the family for the best outcomes for children in the state of Maryland. Jennifer has personally navigated many of the systems of care for children with behavioral issues in Howard County including the educational system, the juvenile justice system and the community hospital.
Amy L. Miller, LCSW-C, Mobile Crisis Team Lead Clinician is a clinical social worker who has been practicing in the mental health field for approximately 17 years. She also provides suicide prevention education in the community and has spoken about MCTs collaboration with the Howard County Public School System at the both the 50th and 51st Annual American Association of Suicidology Conference.
